Receiver Named for Southland Thrift: The Resolution Trust Corp., the government agency that manages and resolves failed thrifts, was appointed receiver for Southwest Savings & Loan Assn., a Los Angeles institution already operating under RTC conservatorship. All deposits, assets and certain liabilities were transferred to a newly formed institution, named Southwest Federal Savings Assn.
