Crescenta Valley 9, Burroughs 5--Damon Martin kicked field goals of 43, 30 and 31 yards as Crescenta Valley won at Burroughs. Burroughs (1-4) had a chance to win the game on its final possession, driving to Crescenta Valley’s 19-yard line, but John Rogers intercepted tailback Danny Suarez’s pass in the end zone.
Jeff Gierok kicked a 27-yard second-quarter field goal, and Martin conceded a safety in the fourth quarter, accounting for Burroughs’ scoring.
Crescenta Valley’s Colby Bogust rushed for a game-high 73 yards in 10 carries as the Falcons (4-1) gained 162 of their 193 yards on the ground.
Burroughs quarterback Dennis Rodriguez completed seven of 10 passes for 55 yards, 54 in the first half.
