Coast Guard Salvages Boat Damaged by Fire

A motor vessel was rescued Friday afternoon 500 yards off shore from Point Loma College near Sunset Cliffs, a Coast Guard spokesman said. The boat had suffered engine damage in a fire.
The fire apparently broke out in the left engine compartment on board the Quest Found at 4:15 p.m. A Coast Guard helicopter, a 41-foot utility rescue boat, a Coast Guard ship and a Mission Bay Lifeguard boat assisted in the rescue.
Two unidentified people aboard reportedly suffered minor injuries.
