Man, 84, Killed by Car While Walking Dog

A woman who struck and killed an 84-year-old man who was walking his dog in Highland Park said she only became aware of the accident when she heard “something bump into the right fender of her compact car,” police said.
The identity of the victim, Rudolf Zvonimir Telar, was released Friday. The accident occurred at Avenue 50 and Lincoln Avenue early Thursday evening. The woman, who was not arrested, was not identified. Traffic Sgt. Richard Greenwood said “her case is truly an accident, one of those unfortunate things that happens.”
