Birmingham 33, Poly 14--Daryl Moore ran for four touchdowns and 101 yards and Danny Larson threw for 204 yards and a touchdown to lead the Braves at Poly.
Birmingham (3-1, 1-1) scored on its first five possessions. The only time Birmingham was stopped was on its final possession when the Braves were stopped on downs at the Poly 36-yard line with 27 seconds left. Birmingham outgained Poly, 375 yards to 229.
Moore scored on two 11-yard runs in the first half and added one- and 15-yard touchdowns in the second half. Larson completed 19 of 26 passes, including a 10-yard second quarter touchdown to Anthony McComb.
Junior running back Jonathan Campbell ran for 108 yards in 18 carries for Poly (1-4, 0-2), including a six-yard, third-quarter touchdown. Carlos Guerra ran 12 yards for the Parrots’ other score.
