Pilot Is Unharmed in Landing Mishap

FULLERTON — A single-engine airplane touching down Thursday at Fullerton Municipal Airport broke its front landing gear and skidded off the runway, authorities said.
The pilot, who was alone in the four-seat Beechcraft Bonanza, was uninjured after the plane veered into a grassy field, Fullerton fire dispatcher John Shope said.
The incident occurred about 4:30 p.m. Shope said initial reports indicate that the landing gear collapsed when the plane hit the runway. The Fullerton Fire Department dispatched two fire engines and an ambulance to the airport, but they were not needed, he said.
FAA officials are investigating the incident.
