Franklin 57, Verdugo Hills 0--Quarterback Santiago Alvarez threw for eight touchdowns and 324 yards to lead visiting Franklin. He completed 25 of 41 passes and threw touchdown passes of 11, 16, four, 17, five, four, 10 and six yards.

Receiver Johnny Calderon had five receptions for 52 yards and scored Franklin’s first three touchdowns. Lamar Lovett had eight catches for 132 yards and a touchdown. The Panthers (7-1, 5-0) rushed only six times for 24 yards.

Verdugo Hills (2-5, 2-3) was limited to 16 yards in total offense. The Dons’ longest play from scrimmage was Eric Jenrich’s 22-yard reception from quarterback Darrell Evans on the game’s final play.
