Unocal Must Pay $10 Million: A federal jury in Miami awarded $10 million to Barkett Oil Co., a former service station operation that claimed Union Oil Co. of California--now Unocal Corp.--violated a federal act governing oil company franchises and the distribution of petroleum products. Barkett said it suffered financial hardships when the Los Angeles-based company canceled its franchise agreement in 1985. Unocal would not say whether it will appeal.
