Brea’s McDaniel and Blackburn Sign With Schools

Aimee McDaniel, who led Brea-Olinda High School to the Division III state championship last season and was named the state Division III player of the year, has signed a letter of intent to attend Pepperdine on a basketball scholarship, Brea-Olinda Coach Mark Trakh said Thursday.

Tammy Blackburn, McDaniel’s teammate at Brea-Olinda, has signed to attend San Diego State, Trakh said.

McDaniel, a point guard, averaged 16 points a game last season. Blackburn, also a guard, averaged 14 points and was chosen first team All-Southern Section.
