COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Valley Routs Antelope Valley

The Valley College women’s basketball team opened its season with an 80-50 nonconference victory over Antelope Valley at Valley College on Tuesday night.
The Monarchs were led by sophomore forward Karrie Parsons, who scored 15 points. Erika Miller scored 10 points and Kim Jeremiah chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds for the winners.
Men’s Basketball
Moorpark 85, L.A. Trade Tech 48--Moorpark made 34 of 56 field-goal attempts and cruised to a nonconference win at Trade Tech.
Forward Sam Crawford scored a game-high 16 points and had 12 assists to lead Moorpark (3-0). Forward Mike Waggoner scored 10 points and had 12 rebounds to record his second double-double in three games, and Jerry Markray scored 11 points and had 10 rebounds to record his third double-double.
Trade Tech (0-2) made just 20 of 67 shots from the field.
Men’s Soccer
Oxnard 0, Moorpark 0--In a Western State Conference finale, the teams played to a scoreless tie.
Moorpark next plays Saturday, meeting Cerritos in a playoff match at Cerritos.
Women’s Volleyball
Pierce d. Santa Monica, 4-15, 15-4, 15-9, 15-3--Anna Suarez had 13 kills to lead Pierce in a Western State Conference finale at Santa Monica.
Alissa Levisohn added 11 kills for the second-place Brahmas (16-2).
