BOGOTA, Colombia — Troops who captured a man with 225 pounds of dynamite in a raid in Bogota widened their search Monday for members of a terrorist ring apparently hired by cocaine traffickers, the military said.
Soldiers arrested Luis Antonio Guzman in a raid Sunday and found 108 sticks of dynamite and a two-way radio. Authorities and news reports have linked Guzman to a 25-pound car bomb defused Friday afternoon in front of an upscale supermarket in Bogota.
Brig. Gen. Ramon Eduardo Niebles said Monday that Guzman was part of a terrorist band planning a string of attacks in the capital.
