SHORT TAKES : CBS Axes Bogdanovich Reviews

NEW YORK — CBS News is not renewing the contract of film director Peter Bogdanovich, whose Thursday video reviews and affectionate film memories have been a bright spot on “CBS This Morning.”
Bogdanovich, nominated for an Oscar for his masterpiece, “The Last Picture Show,” will make his last appearance on the broadcast Thursday morning. He has been with CBS for two years. A spokesman for the program said Tuesday that Bogdanovich’s departure is the first of several moves by new Executive Producer Erik Sorenson, including a change in “This Morning’s” entertainment coverage. Sorenson is expected to reveal his plans next week.
