American Ecology Corp., an Agoura Hills-based waste management company, said it sold its National Ecology unit to Babcock & Wilcox, a subsidiary of McDermott International, for $750,000.
National Ecology operates a waste-processing plant in Baltimore County, Md., and is under contract to start up and operate another in West Palm Beach, Fla.
American Ecology earlier planned to sell the subsidiary for $5.7 million to a buyer that was not identified, but cost overruns in building the Florida plant brought the price down, the company said.
