The body of a newborn baby was found Monday beside a road in a remote area north of Castaic, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
The body was discovered about 4:30 p.m. next to Lake Hughes Road, about two miles east of the Golden State Freeway, Deputy George Ducoulombier said. Officials said the baby’s was a girl, but did not disclose the cause of death.
Last week, three live babies were found abandoned in Los Angeles and Orange counties. They have been placed in foster care while authorities attempt to locate their parents.
