ANAHEIM : Budget Doubled for Water Consultants

The hectic pace of development in the eastern part of Anaheim has forced the city to more than double its budget for water engineering consultants.
The City Council voted last week to increase a contract with Bechtel Power Corp. from $35,000 to $90,000 a year. The increase will be paid for by developers who require the services in order to complete housing projects in the area.
The Baldwin Co. has three projects under construction east of Anaheim Hills, and the Irvine Co. recently announced plans to build 10,500 homes in Gypsum Canyon.
