MALL CRIME: Although Monday’s shooting (A1) wasn’t directly gang-related, youth violence has become an increasing problem in malls nationwide--with gang-related shootings this year in Omaha, Neb., and Fort Lauderdale, Fla. . . . Mall managers now attend industry-sponsored seminars on the gang problem. “Malls are becoming . . . turf,” said a local mall spokesman. “They come into a mall and show their colors and face off.”
