The second sobriety checkpoint in as many weeks will be run in Mission Viejo tonight by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies will be stopping vehicles in search of intoxicated drivers at the intersection of Marguerite and Avery parkways between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m.
Last week, deputies stopped 821 vehicles and conducted field sobriety tests on 14 people. Five drivers were arrested and held on drunk-driving charges.
Another checkpoint will be operated next week at an undisclosed location.
