A Film of Stone

I think veterans will applaud the accuracy, emotion and depth of director Oliver Stone’s “Born on the Fourth of July” (“The Latest Exorcism of Oliver Stone” by Elaine Dutka, Dec. 17). I think the American public will respond with enthusiasm and support for its message. I think the military and Administration will grit their teeth; they wanted Vietnam, the reality of its mistakes, betrayals and hideousness, to be forgotten in the American mind.
Oliver Stone has forever erased any possibility of that.
