6,000 Gallons of Sewage Spill Into Bay

Plastic bags caught in a main sewer line resulted in 6,000 gallons of sewage overflowing into the San Diego Bay Sunday afternoon, county health authorities said.
The spill occurred around 4 p.m. when sewage began bubbling out of a manhole at 1919 Pacific Highway. The sewage flowed for two hours down the highway and emptied into the bay. Warning signs have been posted at 100 feet on either side of the bay.
