Approval of Long Beach Project Voided: A chemical company persuaded Judge David Yaffe of Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday to void the Long Beach City Council’s approval of an auto mall redevelopment project. Yaffe ruled that the Environmental Impact Report completed for the project did not make clear what would happen to the Petrolane Inc. gas plant if the project goes forward. The city was ordered to prepare a supplemental EIR. The two parties are scheduled to return to court March 6. (Filed Jan. 4, 1990 Case No. C726892)
