Grand Met Purchasing 20 Wimpys: Grand Metropolitan PLC said it plans to buy 20 franchised Wimpy restaurants in Britain and convert them to Burger King outlets. The British food and liquor conglomerate, which owns Minneapolis-based Pillsbury Co., also said it has met with a number of parties about the possible sale of its brewing interests, although it also is considering other options to meet antitrust recommendations. Grand Met said the purchase of restaurants from Allied Leisure PLC, London, was to be completed Jan. 29. It did not disclose the value of the deal.
