The body of a woman was found in a Carlsbad residence Thursday morning after a 911 call was placed by a woman who said she was “covered in blood,” police said.
Officers arrived at the residence in the 2400 block of Torrejon Place at 10:49 a.m. and found the front door open. They entered the house, which was empty of furnishings, police said. In a back room, they found the body of Susan Denise Taylor, 26, of Encinitas with what appeared to be a gunshot wound in the head.
The San Diego County coroner’s office said Taylor had been beaten to death with a blunt object.
The occupants of the house were in the process of moving out, Police Sgt. Bill Huntington said.
No suspects have been arrested, and the motive for the killing was unknown, he said.
