San Diego police Saturday arrested 61 anti-abortion demonstrators who tried to block the office of a Hillcrest physician.
All of those arrested were expected to be released pending court dates.
All were to be charged with misdemeanor violations, including trespassing, failing to disperse for police officers and resisting arrest at the demonstration site on Fourth Avenue, just north of downtown.
Police said there were no serious injuries.
Six of those arrested complained of bruised wrists and paramedics were summoned, said police spokesman David Cohen.
No police officers were injured, Cohen said.
The demonstrators were members of Operation Rescue, a nationwide anti-abortion group that dramatizes its cause by trying to shut down family planning centers and physicians who provide family planning services.
