COSTA MESA : Council to Vote on Hiking Officials’ Pay

The City Council is expected to vote on a 15% pay increase for itself at tonight’s meeting.
The proposal would increase members’ monthly salary to $690. Planning commissioners also would receive an increase, from $75 a meeting to $100. Transportation Commission salaries would be raised from $35 to $75 per meeting.
Council and commission salaries have not been raised since 1986.
Also tonight the council will hold another hearing on whether to impose restrictions on live entertainment hours at Hogue Barmichael’s bar on Newport Boulevard.
The council meets at 6:30 p.m. at 77 Fair Drive.
