LAS VEGAS — Seventh-ranked Nevada Las Vegas faces 25th-ranked New Mexico State in a Big West Conference showdown tonight, but the Rebels are not in good shape.
Starting guard Greg Anthony is out with a broken jaw for UNLV (20-4, 12-1), reserve guard Stacey Cvijanovich has a separated shoulder and reserve guard Travis Bice has the chicken pox.
The Aggies (20-2, 11-1) defeated the Rebels, 83-82, in Las Cruces on Jan. 14, their first victory in the 15-game series. Guards Randy Brown and Keith Hill combined for 46 points in that game.
Forward Larry Johnson leads UNLV with an average of 20.9 points a game. Brown is the top Aggie scorer with a 13.9-point average.
Each team has won six consecutive games.
