Gap Inc.: The San Francisco clothing retailer said net income in fiscal 1989 rose 32% despite a $6.5-million charge for the closing of its Hemisphere stores. Profit for the fiscal year ending Feb. 3, 1990, totaled $97.6 million on sales of $1.6 billion, up 27% from fiscal 1988. The company said comparable store sales increased 15%.
