26-Square-Mile Area Sprayed for Medflies
Aerial spraying against the Medfly took place as scheduled Friday night over portions of Brea, Fullerton and La Habra, as well as adjacent parts of Los Angeles County, officials said.
The spraying had been postponed from earlier in the week when high winds grounded helicopters.
Friday’s was the fifth spraying of the 26-square-mile target area. State officials say the area will probably be sprayed 10 to 12 times, and as frequently as once a week during summer.
The next spraying is scheduled for March 26.
Information on spraying is available by calling (714) 447-7118.
