Cinema Paradiso in Santa Monica: A brand-new movie-theater complex, AMC Santa Monica Seven, opens next weekend to benefit homeless families. As part of the Spare Change Film Festival, there will be two showings of “Roger & Me” Saturday at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Proceeds from moviegoers’ admission (their spare change) will go to the Los Angeles Family Assistance Program. The celebration of the theater’s opening continues with “Lady Legends of the Silver Screen,” a retrospective of classic films to be screened from next Monday to March 22. Highlights include Bette Davis in “Little Foxes” and Katharine Hepburn in “Bringing Up Baby.” “Lady Legends” is a benefit for Emeritus College, a senior citizen college in Santa Monica.
