Rorer, Procter & Gamble Form Joint Venture: Rorer Group and Procter & Gamble will jointly develop and market some prescription drugs. Ft. Washington, Pa.-based Rorer, which plans to merge with France’s Rhone-Poulenc pharmaceuticals company, said it gave P&G; exclusive U.S. rights to market its over-the-counter drugs, including Maalox antacid. The agreement will put Maalox in a better competitive position because of P&G;’s vast distribution system, the company said.
