A former supervisor in Los Angeles County’s Facilities Management Department has been sentenced to four years in state prison for embezzling about $300,000, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Tony Johnny, 55, of Lancaster, former complex manager at the county’s Eastern Avenue vehicle maintenance shop where county vehicles are serviced and repaired, pleaded no contest Feb. 9 to two counts each of grand theft and conspiracy. He was sentenced last week by Superior Court Judge Gary Klausner.
Two co-defendants, Jerome Holmquist and Saralyn Holmquist, both 45 of Sylmar, pleaded no contest to one count each of grand theft and conspiracy and were ordered to make restitution of $80,000 to the county.
