The Young Keyboard Artists Assn., founded in 1980, has moved its headquarters from Boulder, Colo., to Irvine in Orange County. The association sponsors educational workshops and an international piano competition that in 1989 drew pianists from more than 39 states and seven foreign countries. The association will hold a West Coast piano institute July 1 though 15 at Chapman College in Orange. The 1990 international competition will be held at the Oberlin (Ohio) School of Music, July 22 through 28. For information, call Scott McBride Smith, executive director, at (714) 262-0540.
