Fichandler to Head Company: Zelda Fichandler, producing director of Washington’s Arena Stage and its guiding force for 40 years, will resign next year to be the artistic head of New York’s Acting Company. Fichandler, 65, said next season’s 40th anniversary is a “good time” to make the switch. She said she will remain with Arena as an “artistic associate” and will direct one production each season.
