MOORPARK : Lottery to Choose 5 Tract House Buyers

Moorpark officials plan a lottery to determine who will be allowed to purchase five new tract houses at a discount under the city’s first-time home buyer program.
Prospective buyers have until May 7 to qualify for the lottery to be held May 16, Councilwoman Eloise Brown said.
The program was designed to allow people who cannot afford new houses to purchase $210,000 homes at a $30,000 discount. The buyer first must qualify for a loan.
Lottery priority is being given first to city residents, then to city employees and third to county residents.
City officials will name the winners at a 6:30 p.m. lottery at Moorpark City Hall. Program applications are available at City Hall, 799 Moorpark Ave.
