Southern California College 6, The Master’s 3--Andy Martin was three for four with a double and Jeff Preston drove in two runs for The Master’s (19-16, 9-8 in NAIA District 3 play) in a game at Southern California College (22-14, 12-5).
Moorpark 5, San Diego Mesa 3--Mike Suarez drove in Darin Furlong with the winning run in the top of the ninth to keep Moorpark alive in the Channel Coast tournament.
Moorpark, one of three host schools for the tournament, improved to 18-9.
SOFTBALL
Hawaii 9-1, CS Northridge 3-0--Hawaii’s Patti Su’A was four for four, including a double and a home run, and drove in three runs in the first game of a nonconference doubleheader at Northridge.
Cindy Schneller (8-11) limited Northridge (30-17) to three hits while Hawaii (15-23) collected 14--the most yielded by the Lady Matadors this season. Schneller was two for four with three runs batted in. Tracy Loo was two for three with three runs scored.
In the second game, Tamara Kaluau of Hawaii bunted to lead off the first and came around to score on a throwing error by third baseman Denise Swank for the game’s only run.
Dionne Peltier (4-9) pitched a three-hitter to earn the win. Northridge’s De Dow (5-5) pitched a two-hitter.
