Touchstone Pictures’ “Pretty Woman” and Warner Bros.’ “Driving Miss Daisy” passed the magic $100-million mark over the weekend--joining New Line Cinema’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and Paramount Pictures’ “The Hunt for Red October,” as members of the prestigious $100 million-plus club. According to industry analysts, the presence of four $100-million movies during the usually sleepy spring schedule bodes well for the possibilities at the summer box office--which officially kicks off Friday with the release of Universal’s “Bird on a Wire,” starring Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn, and Orion’s “Cadillac Man” with Robin Williams.
* The Samuel Goldwyn Co.’s “Longtime Companion,” a drama that deals with AIDS, had ticket sales of $50,525 at two New York theaters. It opens in Los Angeles and in San Francisco on Friday.
