Johnny Carson, the king of late night television for 28 years, has signed for another year as host of NBC-TV’s “The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson.”
“I’m still enjoying this after all these years. As long as I’m having fun, I’ll continue,” Carson said in a statement issued in Burbank today.
Carson, 64, begins his 29th year as “Tonight Show” host Oct. 1 and he will continue on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday schedule, said show spokesman Charlie Barrett. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
