SOUTHERN SECTION SOFTBALL ROUNDUP : St. Margaret’s Pounds Rosamond

Harper Maycock and Wendy Tacquard each hit two home runs to lead visiting St. Margaret’s High School to a 20-11 victory over host Rosamond in Southern Section Small Schools Division second-round softball game Wednesday.
Colette McClaughlin (11-4) struck out 13 and also got offensive help from Sam Ruh, who hit a two-run triple, and Calle Anderson, who had two hits and scored four runs for St. Margaret’s (11-5).
In a 1-A game:
Western Christian 1, Santa Margarita 0--Visiting Western Christian (15-4) scored an unearned run with the help of three errors in the fifth. Santa Margarita had a runner thrown out at the plate for the final out of the sixth inning.
Michelle Methot had two hits for Santa Margarita (20-4) and Katie Beattie (14-4), who pitched a two-hitter, took the loss.
