COMMUNITY COLLEGE STATE BASEBALL : Chabot Sends Riverside to Losers’ Bracket, 20-7

IRVINE — Aaron Ledesma had four hits and drove in three runs, and Chad Burns had three hits and five RBIs to lead Chabot College to a 20-7 victory over Riverside in the community college state baseball tournament Saturday at UC Irvine.
Chabot (42-10) advances to play L.A. Harbor at 11 a.m. today at Irvine. Harbor defeated Santa Rosa, 19-9, in the other game. Riverside (32-16) plays Santa Rosa at 10 a.m. at Rancho Santiago with the loser being eliminated.
Ledesma had an RBI double in the first, walked in the second, singled in the third, hit a two-run home run in the fourth and doubled in the sixth. Burns had three doubles to account for his five RBIs.
Chabot scored six runs in the first and three each in the second and third to chase Riverside starter Jim Patterson (9-7), who had won four in a row.
L.A. Harbor 19, Santa Rosa 9--Harbor (49-5) scored four runs in the sixth to take a 9-3 lead, and added three in the seventh and seven in the eighth. Santa Rosa is 31-18.
