ANAHEIM — Two women were seriously injured Friday night when their subcompact car crashed into a truck that had turned in front of them, police said.
The truck driver fled the scene after the crash, police said.
Officers later arrested an Anaheim man at his apartment near the scene on suspicion of being the hit-run driver and driving while drunk.
The accident occurred about 9:30 p.m. at Lincoln and Knott avenues, police said. The driver of the car, Brenda Lea Partee, 23, of Fullerton was flown to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana. Her passenger, Lilian Rosie Strunks, 28, of Anaheim was driven to Humana Hospital-Westminster. Police said both were listed in serious but stable condition.
Police identified the suspect as James Walton Criswell, 44.
