Vampire’s Kiss

: A sleek, outrageous dark comedy that’s all the funnier for constantly teetering on the brink of sheer tastelessness and silliness. Nicolas Cage gives one of the performances of the decade in this 1989 release as the Manhattan yuppie at his most obnoxious, an arrogant hotshot literary agent who’s richly deserving of falling victim to Jennifer Beals’ sexy vampire. Cage has complained about the film’s release cut, and even though there is a slackening toward the end, this is a risky, satisfying treat. Co-stars Maria Conchita Alonso (above with Cage).
