Hersher Construction of Glendora will refurbish the historic two-story California bungalow-style house that will be the La Fetra Center in Glendora, the City Council decided Tuesday.
Hersher, the lowest of five bidders, agreed to restore the soon-to-be senior center at the northwest corner of Foothill Boulevard and Minnesota Avenue for $263,900, about $75,000 less than the next lowest bidder.
Glendora City Manager Art Cook said seniors should be able to start using the center this fall. He said the building was donated to the city by the La Fetra family, which developed Rain Bird Sprinkler Manufacturing Corp. of Glendora.
