B. F. Goodrich Co.: Profit for the second quarter totaled $55.4 million, up 6% from the same period in 1989. Sales increased slightly to $632.5 million. The 1990 results for the Akron, Ohio-based vinyl products, specialty chemicals and aerospace firm include a $20.5-million after-tax gain from the sale of Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Co. to Michelin. The company also benefited from increased contributions from the specialty chemicals and aerospace businesses, which now account for half of company sales.
