VENTURA : Skateboarder Hit by Car Critically Hurt

A 13-year-old boy who was hit by a car while skateboarding in Ventura was in critical condition Friday evening.
Eric Le Monde suffered severe head and internal injuries in the accident about 4 p.m. Thursday on Telegraph Road at Dunning Street, Ventura Police Sgt. Bob Velez said.
Le Monde was skateboarding across Telegraph Road when he was struck in the crosswalk by a car driven by Anjeanette Bryne, 23, of Ventura.
Le Monde was taken to the Ventura County Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery and was listed in critical condition.
Police did not release additional details.
