Carl N. Karcher, founder of the Carl’s Jr. restaurant chain, said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that he owns 8.8% of the stock of VTN Corp., an Orange-based engineering and architectural firm.
Karcher holds 1.14 million common shares in the company. VTN Chairman Daniel C. Montano acknowledged Karcher’s holdings, but would not comment further.
A spokeswoman for Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc. in Anaheim said the investment was made individually by Karcher, not by Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc.
