Having just returned from my first visit to Alaska, I enjoyed reading the Aug. 12 special issue on Alaska. We were aboard the Clipper Cruise Lines Yorktown Clipper, their inaugural year for Alaskan tours. It’s a yacht-type ship, carries about 138 passengers and is able to navigate waters and reach ports unavailable to larger vessels. Crew was cheerful, food good and all the shore excursions are available that are offered on other cruise ships.
