Lorraine Helps U.S. to World Junior Win

Mike Schiefelbein of Littleton, Colo., allowed just two hits through five innings to lead the United States to a 10-0 win over Mexico in second-round play in the World Junior Baseball Championship in Havana on Friday.
Schiefelbein’s second win of the tournament was aided by former Hart High standout Andrew Lorraine of Valencia, who pitched two innings of one-hit relief.
The United States, seeking its third consecutive world championship, will play Venezuela today in another second-round game.
For the first time, three Valley-area high school water polo teams are ranked in the Southern Section 3-A Division preseason poll.
Harvard, coached by Rich Corso, is ranked third, Crespi is fifth and Agoura 10th.
