Marty Washington passed for 165 yards and two touchdowns to lead visiting Antelope Valley College to a season-opening 22-15 victory over San Diego City on Saturday.
Washington, a former redshirt at Grambling, completed 14 of 42 passes.
Steve Miller rushed for 105 yards in 19 carries and David Brown and Chris Johnson caught scoring passes from Washington.
The game ended in confusion. With the game clock broken, Antelope Valley let a free kick drop untouched. The Knights recovered and marched to the Antelope Valley 11-yard line before the officials declared the game over.
