London Calling: Matsushita Avionics Development Corp., a new Irvine-based avionics research subsidiary of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. of Japan, has opened a marketing office in London to bid for a large contract with Airbus Industrie of Europe, company officials said.
The contract is to provide in-flight entertainment and communications systems for the next generation of the A330 and A340 Airbus commercial aircraft. Airbus is a European aircraft manufacturing consortium based in Toulouse, France.
Neil Morgan has been named head of the London office, where he will oversee the company’s efforts for the contract. He will report to Brinder Bhatia, Matsushita Avionics chief operating officer.
