McDonald’s to Recycle 70% of Waste: The fast-food chain announced a new phase of its “McRecycle” program. At 80 of its Southern California outlets, the firm will attempt to recycle 70% of restaurant waste. The company may expand that to all 500 Southern California McDonald’s. The larger effort began in April with the goal to buy $100 million worth of recycled materials annually for use in its 8,500 restaurants around the country.
