2 Southland Players in Tennis Semifinals

Two Southland players won quarterfinal tennis matches on Saturday at the Warner Center Club to advance to today’s semifinals in the West Coast Fall Men’s Championships.
Andras Lanyi of USC defeated Scott Sigerseth of Arizona, 6-2, 6-4, and Fritz Bissell of UCLA beat Howard Joffe of Pepperdine, 6-2, 6-2, to advance to the semifinals this morning.
Also advancing were Doug Livingston of Arizona, who upended Brice Karsh of Tennessee, 6-2, 6-4, and Mark Jeffrey of Mississippi State, who beat Phil Whitesell of USC, 6-2, 6-2.
The semifinals begin at 8:30 with the final scheduled for noon.
